This is the Birth of Saint Augustine by Antonio Vivarini. In this tempera on panel, created around 1440‑1450, you see a tender moment: a tightly swaddled baby being handed to his mother, Saint Monica, in a richly furnished chamber. The ceiling is coffered, giving the room a sense of depth, while the bed on which Monica sits is surrounded by chests that echo descriptions from contemporary sources.
